Yellowknife Bay

So our contractor had a gander at a work print of this pic and said, " Oh that is .....!" As I had made a point of darkening the face I wondered how he, a married man, came to recognize her. It turned out that the model was visiting their cabin and when a fishing lure got snagged on the bottom, she stripped off to fetch it.

Fort Liard

Former Hudson's Bay post

Spent a week in Fort Liard teaching photography to some of the local youth. Many communities still have buildings from the Hudson's Bay Company. Like this one, originally established in 1826, the company would build several warehouses to store trade goods and furs so that in case of fire, not all would be lost should a building burn.

Smoking fish and moose.

Smoked, dried fish and meat is still a method used for preserving food in some parts of the north.

Death of photojournalism

An ambition of my youth, while never realized, still had an influence on me. It does seem strange, that in such a visual world, that the market is dying. But then I just received a royalty cheque today for a stock image, $1.32.
